This two-day workshop is designed for beginning filmmakers with little or no prior experience who want to learn the tools and techniques of digital filmmaking. You'll learn how to set up and compose basic shots, record dialogue and how to use an f-stop or lux approach to location lighting decisions. You’ll also learn how to transform a scripted scene into a shot list that can be communicated to your crew. Each participant will be introduced to directing actors by using the same Sanford Meisner  “OBJECTIVE” and “AS IF ” acting principles taught to and used by Diane Keaton, Peter Falk, Tony Randall and David Mamet. With coverage of both documentary and narrative forms, the workshop provides an introduction for those interested in creating personal films using small “consumer” and larger “pro-sumer” DV cameras.
